Overview — What you’ll do at Trezor.io/start
Trezor.io/start is the official onboarding hub. It walks you through unboxing, initial firmware checks, seed generation, PIN creation, and connecting to the Trezor Suite App. Use only official links listed below when downloading tools or following setup steps.
Step-by-step setup
- Unbox & inspect: verify tamper-evidence on the package before powering up the device.
- Install Trezor Bridge: if your browser requires it, get the Trezor Bridge Download to enable device communication.
- Open Trezor Suite: use the web app at suite.trezor.io or download the desktop Trezor Suite Download.
- Initialize device: follow on-screen prompts to create a secure PIN and write down your recovery seed — keep it offline and safe.
- Trezor Login / Wallet Login: when connecting to Suite you authorize the device to manage accounts; there is no cloud-stored master password — control stays with you.
Best practices & security
- Never share your recovery seed. Trezor® staff will never ask for it.
- Download only from official domains:
trezor.io
andsuite.trezor.io
. - Keep firmware updated: firmware updates patch bugs and improve security — check updates inside Suite.
- Use passphrase (optional): adds an extra layer beyond the seed for plausible deniability or multi-account setups.
